Alpaca fiber is considered by the fashion industry to be one of the greenest, most natural and softest fibers in the world. Prized for its silky, luxurious feel and lesser tendency to pill, it offers lightweight warmth with excellent insulating properties. These gloves are made on a hand knitting machine by a weaving collective in Peru, supporting artisan craftsmanship and preserving cultural traditions.

Alpaca has been cherished since Inca times for its exceptional qualities—softer than cashmere, warmer and stronger than lamb’s wool, and naturally lustrous. The fiber’s microscopic air pockets provide superior warmth without bulk. Alpacas live freely in the highlands of the Peruvian Andes and are not harmed during the shearing process. Their soft padded feet are gentle on the terrain, and their grazing preserves root systems.
Alpaca naturally occurs in up to 28 colors and can be blended into countless shades, then easily dyed while retaining its beautiful sheen—making these gloves both timeless and sustainably made.
